Career

Retzlaff drove for Viking Motorsports in prior O'Reilly Series seasons and was a key part of the team's decision to expand to a full two-car effort in 2026. The Wisconsin native's résumé coming into 2026 suggested solid mid-pack potential, but his early performance has exceeded even optimistic projections. Viking's technical alliance with Richard Childress Racing has given the team a resource upgrade that Retzlaff is clearly putting to use.

Charlotte: A New Backer for the No. 99

Heading into the Charbroil 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Viking added Free Bird Southern Spring Water to the No. 99 as Retzlaff's primary sponsor for Charlotte and the September Bristol race, with Free Bird also signing on as the team's official water supplier for the full 2026 O'Reilly Series season. The Charlotte race was Retzlaff's second 1.5-mile track of the season, his first 1.5-mile top-5 came at Texas on May 2.

Sheldon Creed passed William Sawalich on an overtime restart and won the Food City 300 at Bristol by 0.253 seconds, leading only the final three laps. Carson Kvapil and Jesse Love led 240 laps between them and finished 24th and 17th. Creed now leads the O'Reilly Series Chase by 11 points over Justin Allgaier with six races left.

Jesse Love took the lead with fifteen laps to go and won the Nu Way 225 at World Wide Technology Raceway, his first victory of 2026. Sheldon Creed finished second and left St. Louis leading the O'Reilly Series Chase by three points over Justin Allgaier, who has won six races this season to Creed's two.

Creed led the final 53 laps and won Saturday night's Fleetio 200 by 2.961 seconds, his second career win in the series. Allgaier led more laps than anyone, hit the wall with 23 to go and finished 17th. His championship lead, 229 points in August and 25 after the Chase reset, is now seven.
